I don’t know about others, but when I think:
…of the place where I gained on-the-job training in the 80’s, as an Automotive researcher, in Brașov,
…of those magnetic tapes, bigger than tape recorder bands, that used to hold thousands upon thousands of invention writings,
…of those computers, larger than grandma’s towering wardrobe,
…of the way I used to share with my colleagues long lists that had dozens of inventions printed on them, in a new, revolutionary manner…
I still can’t contain myself!
Since then I’ve been spending weekends climbing uncharted mountain paths, while exploring the paths of the brightest of minds during the week. All those inventions, all that database offers you a landscape that often leaves you breathless. You sometimes reach astounding peaks… that make you genuinely wonder if you’re down on Earth or up in the clouds.
And just like that, researching dozens, hundreds, thousands of patents, you have a job similar to a neurosurgeon, studying not their brains, but their minds. And all in all, that’s what you become with TEDx: a traveller through mountain paths during the weekend and a guide exploring the inner paths of some of the boldest minds during the week…
As a curator, you control what people in your community will choose to dissipate… poverty or wealth, foolishness or intelligence, health or sickness, peace or war, thievery or honesty, regress or progress… and the list is quite long, I assure you. On a planet that’s about to be plundered and destroyed hundreds of times over… foolishness is infinite!
Am I wrong?
The curator, just like the neurosurgeon, operates on brains by using a fascinating range of techniques, equipment and digital technology, with a unique purpose: to produce as many constructive synapses as possible in this TEDx nervous system.
